Aston Martin Clock
Discussion
Through the winter I've made a wall clock based around engine components from a DB9 and it's nearing completion. It's just a one off for a garage wall somewhere...I hope. It'll be auctioned for a charity later in the year, but for some exposure and for those who may appreciate it, here are some shots:

There are some chapter ring numbers owed and a couple of 'pointers' on the sub dials needed to complete the face.

The intake manifold support plate, '6.0, V12' plate and the aluminium stiffening bar are original items from a written off 2007 DB9. The cast looking items are treated MDF, sprayed silver. The curved back panel is plywood covered in brushed aluminium laminate.

The mainplate is gunmetal and area around the complication is antiqued copper and machine burnished stainless steel. Old clock components make up the rest of what you see.

I tried to emulate the side vent of a DB9 into the silver sprayed support frame. The 'brown' edge is more antiqued copper that was used in the face.
I'd posted this in the AM forum, warts and all from ideas on, but I'd appreciate some feedback from those who have more of an interest in timepieces in general.
Thanks,
Mark.

Thanks for the positive comments.
The mechanism is a quartz, AA battery, simple thing, nothing elaborate, so I don't expect it to make big bucks. Anything over £40 which was the cost of raw material and the Aston badge would help the charity it's going to. I had the time, some offcuts & quite enjoyed tinkering with it, so there's no great loss whichever way it goes.

NeMISIS, the clock face is based around a Jaeger LeCoultre watch made specifically for the DB9, which retails at over five figures, so it lent itself as a major influence for this item.
I'm not expecting big things, but if an enthusiast or two makes the connection, it could well boost the finaL bid.
The favourable comments do give me a boost to make the final details as good as I possibly can. Thanks chaps.

An update. I put out a shout on the photo/video forum on this site for some pointers on how to photograph this clock. A PH'er came forward and offered his services for the charity, so thank you John (Simpo Two) and here's what he produced:

I've yet to finalize the date for the auction, but I'll post it up as soon as I know.
