Who ate all the pies...
Discussion
Yes around 100kg
Was having discussions with nightspirit about reducing weight and came out with the following:
Standard Seats: 12-15kg
Cobra seats: 6kg
Forged Wheels - around 3kg saving per corner.
Alloy rad - Around 8kg saving over standard.
Various parts of CF inserts (trans tunnel, door cards etc)
With the above I reckon a saving of 50kg could be possible.
The above is all after market items, so where does the T350 hide it's extra weight, especially over the sag?

The full cage will add a bit, as will the roof. I'd suggest a big portion will also be the rather heavy glass rear screen.
It's the same one fitted to the Sagaris though...Were the cars measured fitted with air-con and the same amounts of fuel?
ETA: Back boxes and de-cats will obviously shed some fat as well

If you could get the rear screens (another thread on this I spotted earlier) in coated acrylic/poly carb, it wouldn't scratch, would be much stronger than glass (think you'd need to go 4mm thick) and should save a good amount, on my last lightweight venture I bought some 4mm poly from Ebay and just cut it and rivetted into place for the rear and side windows, iirc the poly saving was about 2kg+ per window.

8kg off the weight of the radiator by switching to alloy. I don't believe that. The radiator isn't that big and it has plastic ends anyway..Plus the alloy version isn't made of pixie dust.
As for the weight difference, I see it as additional strengthening. Plus no Tamora has got away from me on track (luckily I've not been up against Mrs S's red Tamora). Spend you money on driver tuition. Interestingly the Red Rose engined T350s didn't have any more poke than mine on the track either. Of course some drivers managed to navigate bends better than me, but that's down to the nut behind the wheel
So don't worry

If you read the earlier threads that you mentioned then you'll see that the Sag is the heaviest and the Tam the lightest with the T350 inbetween.
Still we have no proof of this. Not a single scrap of real evidence. We have lots of people saying stuff, but there we go...(Which is why I started the 'weights and measures' thread so we could actually get the info!)

Looking at it logically the Sagaris should weight a smidge more than a T350. It has the same drivetrain/mechanics/chassis (with minor tweaks), and the body has a lot more bits sticking out all over the place which I bet add a KG or three to the weight.(Which is why I started the 'weights and measures' thread so we could actually get the info!)
Of course a full tank of fuel probably weighs more than the difference between all three cars. Drive everywhere with 4L in the tank and enjoy the performance

Have to agree on the obsession with saving weight is in the mind to us mere mortals. I race bikes in a power to weight class, Thunderbikes, and it really is whats in the head of the fastest rider. You could take 30 kg of my bike and it still wouldn't help. You brake later, hold more corner speed and get on the gas earlier and its game over, no matter what your steed. Top Gear proove this regularly with their 'star in a reasonably priced car' feature, some of the fastest people have never seen a track before.
All the flash carbon fibre in the world can't help you win races / be the fastest away from the lights. And no, I haven't won a race as yet
Still be interesting to know what poundage the 350 tips the scales at, reckon it's time for a trip to the local weighbridge. More for bar room bragging than anything else, will let you know after its been in Power Tuesday having its electrical gremlins sorted.

I will weigh mine next week and post up the results.
With regards to the exhaust system I have JP de cats and a JP sports box. I have spoken to them and weighed my old units.
Fitting de cats saves 3.2kg!
Fitting the rear box does not really save you a lot. Maybe 1kg at the most as the standard box only weighs 9kg. The stainless used by JP is thick (1.6mm) and the baffles are twin walled.
You could empty the washer bottle and save 1kg!
Cheers. Lee.
