Quinny, beware of so called overhaulers of steering racks. I bought a recond one for an M series, failed its first MOT with play in the NS bushing. Re bushed it myself and OK for a few hundred miles now the OS needs re-bushing.
Wouldnt be too upset but it cost the best part of £240 from a very well known TVR agent.

Why would Quinny need to do any editing?

Paul...re the M Series rack, there is no bush as such in the pinion side of these racks, a sprung/shimmed plunger loads against the rack bar, against the pinion, which is has it's own set of shims to set height. With these you discern wear and add/remove shims to set. Adrian@

Thanks for that, I rebushed the near side but have not removed the rack to start on the OS yet so just assumed they were the same. I dont suppose you stock the shims and lock washers?
