GT5 - PH B-team 533pp series
Discussion
This is the thread for us to discuss how we would like to run our series for people of lesser abilities on GT5.
If we start with people adding their PSN ID to the list and everyone adding eachother. One of us will set a lobby up each night and we will go from there.
Guidelines
The main 333 bhp per tonne races are now being repalced by 533PP
The 250 bhp per tonne races are now being replaced by 480PP
The format of the rep races have changed now, its still full contact but with much biger vairaty of cars. i think it would be best if we set a PP limit for each race and people keep to standard cars (un modified)that fit into that limit.
We have done some great rep style races with pick ups, classic americn muscle and executive saloons so please make sure you have loads of cars that are still standard.
I am still undecided on whether we allow aero or not, apparently you can return cars back to no aero (for a fee) so maybe we should allow it for a while. We will have a vote on this and the reulsts will be updated on here. (See the last post in this thread for my vote (page 20))
The rules are as follows until further updates:
Sports soft tyres as a maximum!
Nothing above the PP limit
No adjustable aero
No race/rally cars (this rule stands even if we allow aero (vote dependant)
There are no srtict contact rules like in the "A" team where they dont like the paint rubbing. I think the general concenesus is, slight rubbing is fine but not barging around the track like perhaps you would if you were racing against AI. We all want to have fun on here without having to worry about people going mad at us for a bit of contact, so if you do come into contact with someone then please just apoligise afterwards. If someone makes contact with you, give them a chance to say sorry too please. Lets keep the bickering down and the fun up on the rooms from now on guys.
DON'T RETALIATE TO A KNOCK BY PUNTING THE PERSON BACK!! - It will achieve nothing but carnage. If someone is causing a real problem then politely say so and im sure they will kerb the agression on track.
Touring car rules
see you on track.
Let me know if i have missed anything.

Touring car rules
- Touring cars!!! Obviously

- 500PP max
- Any tyres
- Minimum of 1100 KG (add ballast if you need to)
- Try to keep to 300 bhp (not a strict rule but lets try to keep it as close as possible)
- Races may be slightly longer
- If you want to build your own "touring car" then please try to keep to 4/5 seat saloons, (big-ish) coupes, and (big-ish)hatch backs such as focus ST and FD2 civics. Not tiny cars such as fiat 500's please.
see you on track.Let me know if i have missed anything.

I reckon we should keep it generally as a 333 bhp per tonne series as we can then go to the "a team" races too but on the odd night mix it up with other stuff.

I've not joined in yet but like the sound of the lesser abilities part If we start with people adding their PSN ID to the list and everyone adding eachother. One of us will set a lobby up each night and we will go from there.

I agree with S3. Come join us. I am consistently at the back of the pack with S3, Darkdice, j3, norbs, flip etc way ahead of me but is still great fun. It would be nice to have some company at the back.

same, auto/pad. although not for much longer once i get G's DFGT.
you guys at the back, we do have a secret weapon for mixing the grid up and allowing you guys to get to the front,
Some say he is blind in both eyes and only uses the force to drive, others that he is just crap, all we know is, he's called Captain Bash....

Hope i'm not being patronising, the way I work out the bhp/tonne is divide the bhp by the weight. For example 400bhp divided by the weight 1.2 tonnes (1200kg) equals 333bhp/tonne.
I'm not sure how the quick guys go with their mods, if they get the weight as low as possible and tune the power to meet the 333 limit, or keep the weight the same and add power. It probably depends on the type of circuit. I have seen it mentioned that a heavier set up car of the same model does not drive much different compared to a lighter one, contrary to what you might expect (well I would expect!). Sometimes a heavier more stable car can be easier to drive, the RC buggies I race people have been making cars heavier to cope with the mental power we now have available.
My psn it stuey1002000 if anyone wants to add :-)

Cheers S3 and Rex, I certainly won't be leaving you guys for good, I will mix up what I do because I really enjoy racing the harder opponents and getting better.
I just figured this would be a good way to get more people out and help us all progress, we aren't kicking good people out either if you lot want to join in
Also - anyone got any recomendations for headsets?

I can see the appeal of this tbh, some are taking things waaaay to seriously in the 333 lobbies
"my tune isn't right for this track" ...... give over

Fair point - I hate the tuning/fettling with suspension/LSD side of things so, my cars are generally pretty standard handling-wise. These may be the better rooms for me to begin with...

Agreed, i have a new thing we can do to. instead of setting power/weight limits.

Why dont we have totally standard cars only limited by money.
You can only buy standard cars up to a certain value. say 30k, 50k, 100k etc etc.
