I'm buying a 2nd-hand BMW (a 2001 330d Sport) and I'm trying to find out what's standard equipment and what isn't. I don't want to end up in prison for driving without valid insurance because I said it was all standard stuff for the model/year, and then didn't tell them about the rear armrest.

Is there any good list anywhere of what's standard, and what is not? Googling hasn't turned up a great deal of any use, except this page on the parkers site:

http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/equipment/Detail.asp...

So judging by this you get that rear armrest as standard equipment wink - but does anybody know of anything more official?

Excellent, thanks for that! I assume the sport version of the diesel saloon is mostly the same, so it looks like I should be OK - the car just looked a bit more 'blingy' to me than normal, inside and out, so I was worried about body kit, bigger wheels, and alcantara seats. Seems this was just my simple tastes being awed by a standard spec wink

After consulting both lists, seems that the extras it has are: parking sensors, CD changer, and wood trim.

So I called the insurers up to tell them about all this, expecting a massive bill ("that wood trim, it's a MAGNET for thieves..."), but instead the premium promptly went down by £60...

Parking sensors were standard on the 2001 MY together with clear lenses
