Looking to buy a 993 Turbo 4, N reg, very low mileage, always loverd the car and leaning towards it over a 996. Any advice on what to look for and is it far more expensive to keep on the road than the 996 C4?

Wouldn't go too low on miles, more probs with garage queens. Loom at www.993tt.com for buying info and problems. They do cost a fair bit to run, a tad more than a 996C4 at a guess. Test drive both. More character in a 993, but less modern.

Hope this helps,
Domster

For refference (I may even be tempted to sell, you never know!)
My 95 M turbo 4 with 36K miles and FPSH in arena red with NO sunroof, grey sports seats and in concourse condition (actually is featured in the TURBO suppliment of 911 & porsche world this month) cost me a little over £40,000 with warranty from a dealer.
If my plans to go abroad come though it may be available (although I may just want to keep it forever!)
The car also won 2nd in class at Highclere or whereever last year in hands of previous owner.
Must admit, my post does sound like a for sale advert, maybe it's something subliminal?

Thanks Martyn, you may well be a Yorkshireman but I appreciate a fellow progenitus of the Nordic seed from whatever unjust bearing east of the Pennines he may hail...

You really must buy one of these; nothing else will do.

You got a real bargain there! I think you'd struggle to get a 993TT like that for £40k today. Thats the price of a 75k mile example.

The steering wheel certainly is on the right hand side. I actually lost sleep last night with the thought of selling it. I spent 6 months looking for it and don't think I could be without it. Bit like a comfort blanket! I managed to get a good deal because I negotiated a price before I went and looked at it because I knew that if I saw it was exactly what I wanted, I'd buy it at any cost!

Nearly forgot to mention that there is one on good 'ol eBay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9860&item=2476145429&rd=1

High miles if that matters to you, personally I don't think it's a big deal especailly once you've driven one you'll know how hard to drive it above 3000 rpm without killing someone!

I wanted one recently but can't find a good one for sensible money any more so will continue with the 997 C2S order - the one on Hendon motors advert is £62.5k and the other now sold went for £55k!

Cheers
