My FIL has asked me to ebay his Seiko for him. It's boxed and in good condition with rubber strap and stainless bracelet. He wants £130 for it but I'm not sure how much it's worth as I can't find a similar one to compare.

That has surely been modded?

I don't know but wouldn't have thought so. If it is worth the money I might just keep it for myself as it looks good on the wrist but I'm not a diver.

It's very peculiar if not modded.
It looks like a 'Monster', but they've never had a cyclops on the date as far as I'm aware and they have a day/date, not just a date.
It's either modded or fake if it is a Monster.

The date is at 4 O'Clock as well confused Spydaman, is there a model number on the back of the watch?

Quite a common mod is to rotate the dial to get a different look.
Vicky has a Monster that is 'upside down', with the crown on the 10 o'clock side, so the dial is just inverted to keep the orientation.
The lack of a day (although that could be covered by a new dial) and the cyclops seem very odd to me.

Appparently it's AKA a 'Quartz Monster' and is the predessor of the Monster line.
The model number on the back is 8f35-0019

Well done, now what is it worth ?
I have a couple of quid hehe

I don't know enough about these, but from a quick search there are some that have been put up for sale for between $200-300, albeit with little interest.

Spydaman, would you like me to create a post for you on TZ-UK? It's a huge UK based watch forum, but it's difficult for new members to join outside work hours ... It'll give us a few more opinions on how much it should fetch thumbup As Nemisis says, it could be worth a bit more due to the fact it is a quartz!

ETA: Follow the topic here: http://www.tz-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t...

Sorry for the bad grammar - I'm in a rush to pick up a Chinese takeaway! biggrin

I'd appreciate if you could ask the question on TZ-UK, although I'm becoming tempted to buy it off him myself.

Never seen one of those before, good find Ikemi! I could name one or two people on TZ that would be interested in that though I wouldn't blame you if you'd want to keep it yourself OP.
