I am toying with the idea of another M3, and put a search on ebay.
Ive had Carbon black so fancied a blue, grey or red this time. Also more importantly I ticked Manual.

Everyone that caught my eye was an SMG, some I only noticed on looking at the pictures as there was no mention of SMG on the adverts. How difficult is it to tick the right box, Auto or Manual?

Also the normal 3 series M3 look a like that actually looks fk all like an M3 that pop up as an M3, like I am going to change my mind and say "oh that looks really nice and its so much cheaper i think i will buy that as it looks the same" Idiots.

Please please please list your cars for what they are.
Rant over.

Well, because it is an automatic clutch, not an automatic gearbox sooooooo the two versions available are manual gearbox or SMG manual gearbox.

I suppose its neither. Its a Sequential Manual Gearbox!

Although when it comes to selling them,i agree they should be listed as an auto so that potential buyers can search between the two.

Same o A/T when I was looking. Very frustrating.

However, they are Sequential Manual Gearbox's, so you could be forgiven for listing it as a manual.

Could you drive an SMG if you only had an automatic license?

Try typing the following, or a variation of it, into the eBay search box

BMW M3 E46 -SMG

and tick the 'Search title and description box'. This will ignore any listing with SMG in it.

It's an awkward question, but DVLA class them (incorrectly) as autos.

If you can't pass your full car test, you shouldn't be driving an M3 really...

But then most dont have "E46" on so you miss them. Its awkward trying to find specific cars.

Cab you not drop the E46 then and when you've searched, select the years to be later than 2001?

It must be down to the presence or not of a clutch peddle. I'm sure an auto licence holder would have no problem driving a SMG although it might not be the smoothest of drives.
