As per the title really, made a start on the Tamiya 1/24 Morris Mini Cooper Dad got me for Christmas smile

The engine should be Landrover bronze green - Tamiya suggest mixing X5 whatever green gloss to XF5 something green matt to produce the correct satin colour.

Now I've converted these into Humbrol colours (I'm getting on with these so don't really want to change) but can I mix Humbrol Matts with Glosses to produce a satin finish?

There's an easy way of finding out I guess.

In the "old" days I never had any real problems mixing Humbrol enamels - matt, gloss or satin.

I don't really use Humbrol enamels (or enamels in general) any more so I can't vouch for how they mix these days. Moderm Humbrol formulae do seem to be a bit different to the old paints.

No problem mixing Humbrol matts and glosses with each other. As long as you don't try mixing enamels with acrylics of course!
