Please sir! Me sir!
Picked up my 350SX from Haughins in March 1989 and had all sorts of problems with it driving home as it had an airlock in the cooling system.
But after that was sorted - oh boy!
The burbling usually starts after the engine has dislodged some of the baffle plates in the silencer box......

Yes and yes - 390SE October 1985 picked up from Drakes Broughton near Pershore followed by a 70 mile slow and relaxed drive home through the countryside. It did pop'n'bang from day one but I didn't get far into the rev range until after the 1K running-in period.
After seeing the 350 at the motor show I went to see both the TVR Centre and Drakes Broughton, both were approximately equidistant from Reading, I chose the optioned-up car over the 350. Even though I ordered the car 6 months in advance (I knew the date when my building society savings matured) the car was still delivered a week late!
I only chose Drakes Broughton over Barnet because the drive home to Reading would be nicer.

Like Jasper bought my first new 350 in red with tan interior and SEAC rear wing from Dave Haughin in 87. Then got a new 390 specially made with a SEAC dash by the factory (after which became standard fit for the 390) in 88 and then in 89 a new 450 Seac in blue with cream/blue leather both off Dave. He was such a character, when I first went to see him at Barrow I had a new 3 door Sierra Cosworth that I had chipped by Detection Techniques one of the 1st they ever did and the guy ended up as Superchips. The Sierra was really quick and I was interseted in swapping for a new 350.
When I got there Dave was keen to tell me my car was overated and not that quick, I told him it was quicker than any car he had! He looks over his glasses and says right lets take my demonstator (that he had had tuned and was rated at 225 BHP instead of 190) and you follow me and try and keep up. Well I got past his car on the first long bit of duel carriage way we hit! When we got back to the showroom he gets a mechanic out saying he thinks his fuel pressure is low. I couldnt keep a straight face and told him my car was throwing out around 300BHP.
So he did me a great deal on a new 350 that I had done to the same spec as his. 10 months later he comes to pick it up for a service with a black 390 that he leaves with me grinning saying get ready to be shocked. And so I was it was a rocket compared to mine so I rang him back to order a new one. After nearly 12 months of having the 390 he rings me up saying where are you this aft and what you up to I have a customer’s 420 SEAC just had a service and I am out road testing it. So he drives up to mine (I live 1 mile from the M55 near Blackpool) and we take both cars on there for a blast resulting in the green SEAC leaving me quite a bit to my amazement. We get to the end of the motorway he laughs waves and drives back to Barrow job done I order a new SEAC.
So my new Seac is made with some nice extras and just as I am about to pay for it Dave says oh by the way they are not made from Kevlar anymore as the weave shows through and it looks awful so yours is the first new batch of 450's that will be made that way from now on! If memory serves me right the car was around 35K instead of 25K for a 390 most of that being in the time making the much lighter bodywork which mine did not have. Trouble is he tells me just after I have sat in it and was ready to pay and drive home! That was Dave such a character and a great salesman I liked the car so much I never bothered and to be honest the bodywork in the green one he raced me in looked awful so in a way I was glad.
Unfortunately after a few months the body looked awful so wavy it turned out the body had not been left to stand and cure long enough after being made. It went back to the factory for sorting and a full respray the car I think is still owned by "Nacnud" who used to post on here.
