Why buy shares for fun/cool? If you think they will increase in value great but if not you are just gambling (or worse)
You know when you go to the Grand Prix and buy a baseball cap for £30? it's a bit like that except it won't make you look like quite so much of a tit. HTH.

In order to get full details and then order shares ahead of the day of the offering, you will need to contact the IPO co-ordinator. That will be Bank am Bellvue AG which is Swiss based. They are co-ordinating the IPO across Germany, the UK and other countries.
R.
Thought they'd be a link on the website (Williams or the bank), can't find anything.... R.
Revenue is from sponsorship but also on their finishing position in the championship and then they get a proportion of the commercial rights from tv deals based upon their championship end slot.
It's a gamble bit like that racing driver who sold shares in himself didn't come to much. This however is a team which has a seriously good track record but now manufactures are in there in force so much harder than vs other teams

Looks like the Swiss have this page ready http://www.bellevue.ch/cms/lang/en/home/bank_am_be...
Next update should be the prospectus

OK, I'll open by saying I know next to nothing about shares so be gentle with me!
If, as someone else has posted, an F1 fan such as myself wanted to buy a couple of shares just really for fun and a souvenir certificate to stick on the wall, is this possible?
I'm not worried about making any money and would only be looking to buy a few shares (depending on their price obviously!) no more than about £100 - many people would spend this on a night out so it's money I'm prepared to lose.
If it is possible, how do I do it?
Many thanks for any help

Looks like the shares are going to be going for £20-£25 with a nominal value of £0.05 whatever that is?!.. a pop but not sure if there is minimum amount?!.. German listing only, last I heard.
No plan to list in UK as our new rules would require disclosure of promo and advertising deals.
As for getting certs. This is hard enough in the UK. In Germany, you'd need to go via a local broker and get the purchase settled outside of Crest. You'd still have a cert in German though.

There is a suggestion on their site of a fan float with details to follow

But in Germany there is a minimum application of 50 shares ie just over a grand
