M3 for sale w/ satnav
Discussion
I've seen this M3 for sale and I'm very tempted:
BMW M3 SMG, 2 Doors, Automatic, Coupe, Petrol, 2001 51 Reg, 79000 miles, Metallic Titanium Silver, 1 Owner. LARGE INDOOR SHOWROOM, NEW SHAPE, Satellite Navigation, TV, Harman Kardon, Xenon Headlamps, 19" M Sport Wheel Upgrade, Paddle Shift Steering Wheel Gear Change, Electric Folding Mirrors, Full Black Leather Upholstery, 1 Owner, BMW Service History, With Running In Service, Climate Control, Air conditioning, Bluetooth, Computer, Cruise control, Electric Heated Memory Seats, Electric windows, Front armrest, Head restraints, Headlight washers, Multi function steering wheel, Isofix child seat anchor points, One of the best examples available, Park distance control, Power assisted steering, Rear armrest, Remote locking, Rear headrests, Front fog lights, STUNNING, AA Dealer Care Extended Guarantee, FULL DEALER FACILITIES. Insurance Group:20
(£10.750)
Sound like a good deal? Its from a (non bmw) dealer,so i'll definitely have it inspected. (I hear RAC are good for this, unless anyone else has suggestions?) Are the higher mileage cars risky?
I've also heard about satnav's being 'unlocked'. what does this mean, and is it worthwhile/expesive to do? Are the early (2001) satnav systems any good, and can you get update discs now?
Finally, if there's any PH'ers out there selling a similar spec car in this price range, please get in touch! (Rather buy a well maintained enthusiast owner M3).
Cheers

Looks well priced considering it's at a dealer. Need to check obvious items - tyres, brakes etc as new all round set could turn a good deal expensive. Since 10 years old important to check the rear subframe also as BMW will not repair foc beyond and it's big bucks if you're paying.

2001 may not have the DVD drive for sat nav. Upgrade units are a couple of hundred quid second hand. To check the version, look at the cd DVD caddy in the boot. If it has the DVD sticker then no need to replace.
Speed cameras etc can be added to the sat nav. Google is your friend for this one.
