Seriously thinking about an XKR or XK8, love my current car but having probs with my left knee and this means that driving the car can become very painfull around town or in traffic.
Any links to a buyers guide would be great :-)
Also opinions on this ? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2240859.htm please.

JEC (Jaguar Enthusiats Club) are quite good. I dare say Jaguar World has done a few buying guids for these cars, might be worth calling their back issues department.
I assume you know of the dreaded nikasil issue.
No comments on that advert, other then it looks nice in the pics. No details of what that actual car is like, and no detailed pics so very difficult. Get him to change the centre caps, they look 'orrible when faded!

lots of advice etc on there.
As said before, make sure its got the steel lined engine, and look out for any water pump issues. Most of the older ones will have the new engine now.
A comprehensive service history is a must.
If you find one that has been looked after, serviced regularly and has the steel engine I doubt you will have any issues.

I've had mine for about a year and I still love it. Brakes and tyres aren't cheap and neither are the fuels bills but I often see 25+mpg so not terrible. Mine's been reliable mostly, save a couple of engine bay sensors going south. Depreciation seems to be leveling out at the moment too. Personally I'd up the budget a little and get a newer 4.2. They're real bargains at the moment.
