Renault Megane RS.. or MPS 3 ?

The renault has a ~250 hp engine and is equipped with a twin scroll engine, but the car looks butt-ugly...
on the other hand the MPS 3 looks like a smiling clown with a softer suspension (?)

so what would you choose ?

Hard to say. On paper they are broadly similar, FWD, turbo, LSD.

Drive both, make a choice.

I had a good poke around a 250 Megane last year and came away mightily impressed. Its not good looking but neither is it ugly in Renault Sport spec. Just make sure it has the standard wheels rather then the horrid 19" wheels.

Are we talking about the new shape Megane? Don't think it's a bad looking car myself.

I'd definitely go with the Renault, unless you need the added practicality of the MPS.

Brilliant car, underated. Makes mince meat of most other hot hatches and is very subtle. Interior is lovely and seats are very good.

The new MPS3 looks good with that big bonnet scoop, but the smiley face looks daft. That said, the old one is just too plain for my tastes, and has some of the most boring wheels known to man.

The Renault on the other hand, has always been a really good looking car imo, and probably a better drive. Evo seem to quite like the new Mazda, but don't really lavish praise on the older ones, or even mention them at all, wheras they and most other motoring publications / websites etc have been quite appreciative of the RS.

I had to make a similar choice drove most hot hatches and went for the mk1 aero mps

RS 250 has been What Car?'s Hot Hatch of the Year for the past 2 years - enough said...

I bought the 250 cup a couple of weeks back and its been a truely amazing car and with all the reviews saying that the only hot hatch that compares currently is the Focus RS...I also prefer the look of the 250 over the Mazda 3 so not sure why everyone doesn't like the looks.

And, if you do get the Megane, you can spread joie to all your neighbours and friends.
