Daily Fail but disgraceful. So if he wasn't disabled, it would have been alright then.

Oh, let's see then: what appears to have happened, going by the Mail report - always dangerous but you started it - is that a Labour MP tried to intervene when the Tory attacked one of their policies.

This hyena-like attack went unnoticed at the time so it must have been dreadful.

I've seen live parliamentary debate, or what passes for it, and from my recollection this is the norm.

Even Maynard himself says that the intervention 'may be normal parliamentary tactics.' and that he didn't 'know for certain that ther were taking the mick out of my disability.'

It seems that someone tried to intervene by not standing up - again according to the Mail. This, it would appear, is about as bad as it got.

Further it seems that the female mps were 'rather robust'.

It's the Mail. You really shouldn't read it if you are likely to believe anything in it. It is the Sun but with more advert for tofu and hummus.

Maybe, or maybe their behavour stinks.

"A senior Labour MP told The Mail on Sunday: ‘What they did was disgusting. It was obvious that Paul was upset but they sensed a weakness and went for the kill like a pack of hyenas.’

Outraged Labour MP Lindsay Hoyle, the Deputy Speaker, tried to protect Mr Maynard "

Not just the lefites though, I think the majority of MP's show utter contempt for the house & their position of privilege.

I'm equally sure there is a small minority who are the opposite.

I agree about Limpone, the 8th dwarf though. With him & the last excuse for a human, they sum up everything that is wrong with politics.

Bring back Boothroyd.

I'm not very PC at all, but if that's true then it's disgusting.

TBH even if he wasn't disabled and they were just generally pulling faces etc to put him or anyone else off, it's totally childish. What kind of muppets are running this country!? Or were..

Ah, yes, that annon. senior spokesperson whom they keep in a cupboard for when they need a quote.

Donna, it's the Mail. It tells lies, it makes things up, it doesn't tell the truth.

I was quoted correctly once by my local newspaper and it was so unusual that I phoned the editor to congratulate him. He thanked me and said it would never happen again. Those were the only two times the local paper told the truth.

A senior person on the Mail editorial staff told me . . .

See, even I can do it.

They print such stuff so that the gullible can become outraged.

A stone, one stone, was thrown at a fire brigade pump/escape and it broke a side window. It was thrown by a one of a group of half a dozen 14 year olds. In the local paper it was reported as a riot - 'a response to the heavy handed and insensitive way the estate was policed'. It even reached the nationals and over a year later was quoted as an example of how law and order had collapsed in sink estates. I don't know if the Mail got hold of it, but if they did they are probably still using it.

My lads, all those who turned up to quell the riot and quell 'the cascade of missiles' enjoyed the read. We even stuck it up on the notice board. I'd suggest sticking all Mail reports, but not where they can be seen.

Don't believe the Mail. That way you will be happier and better informed.

I hate labour, I really hate labour. Them coming out and trying to say nothing happened just makes me hate them more.

But and it is a big BUT I hate the heckling and taunting that goes on inside parliament even more than I hate labour. It should stop for everybody not just the disabled, women or any of the other freaks that go there, but everybody.
I don't think this MP wants special treatment I don't think women MP's should have special treatment and if heckling and taunting is a part of the "parliament game" they all enter knowing that and should not only accept it but play it on the same level everybody else has to play.

Stopping this practice alltogether would be better and far more proffessional, but while it continues everybody that enters the house does so knowing that, that is the game.

You can't sack an MP, mainly.

If you ever try speaking to your MP or see them in parliament jeering eachother, it'll make you wonder why you bother to vote. Childish s doesn't even begin to describe the majority of the self-serving scum

Derek, just so you know, the Wail is only one of the papers running the story. But don't let me stop you from refusing to believe that Labour MPs are just as much as a bunch of wkers as the rest of them.

I'm no labour supporter and I agree with you as to your suggestion that they are all the same.

As regards newspapers running with the story, have they all got their own insiders, their own little quote, and their own explanation as to why no one noticed it at the time?

The story is about as nil as it can get. It's a filler. There is absolutely no substance to it. Some MPs tried to interrupt a speaker, others came in with some comments, some suggested he be allowed to speak and he was.

There is no evidence as to motive, and the suggestion that it was done to make the life of the victim of a terrible disease even worse is not supported by anything in the text. The simplest explanation is that those who were a little over the top did not realised the chap's problems. Once this was pointed out, it seems, the problem ended.

I've got some lovely Japanese tea-cups. The china they are made of is transluscent. You can actually see through the material to an extent. I don't touch them as, first of all, they are very valuable, and secondly they are useless as there isn't even enough room in them to satisfy a baby's thirst. this isn't a storm in one of those little tea0cups.
