Hi All
Im thinkng of getting a mark adams chip for the 420 SEAC, the Tornado chip i think, ive not realy had the time to look in to it yet, what i was wondering was - can you prorgam them your self or even install it your self and is there many second hand ones kicking around or should i go for new?
I know of some people in my area that can program super chips and there is a few different mapping programs out there that can do this kind of work.
Should i give V8 Developmant a call and see what they recommend?
What benifits will a chip give me?
Thanks for any help and sorry if im sounding a little thick at the mo, must be the time of year but at least my spelling is getting better (i think)

Campbelt....CAmpbell

Cheers

the main advantage of a MA tornado is him chipping for your car.

he'll get the best over MANY perameters from cranking to idling to hot and cold maps etc etc. engine braking, flame outs, power, fuel economy...

need i go on!

from a happy customer.

Previous owner of my Chim (Manek) had the Tornado chip installed by Mark Adams. I don't think it's really a DIY job, as he apparently programs the chip as the car is on a rolling road and taylors the chip for each car.

The chip sometimes gives some pretty impressive power increases, better fuel comsumption, and a smoother ride.

There's and article on PH about my car being chipped along with a BHP and torque before/after graph here:-

You can have a "standard" chip from Mark, based on the average values for similar cars based on Mark's extensive experience. Fitting it yourself required that your existing chip is "socketed" and not soldered directly to the circuit board. I believe all TVR chips are supposedly socketed.

However as mentioned earlier, the benefits really come from having the chip custom tuned to your engine on a rolling road.

I know a few people who can play the piano. But that doesn't make them Concert Pianists.

And I can saw a piece of wood in half, but that doesn't make me a carpenter.

If your running a 420 seac the chances are you are on the old flapper system system so a new chip will be a usefull as a battered sausage!! even so mark still does the flapper systems and after years of him doing them you may be able to purchase an off the shelf ecu for it? personaly speaking i will have nobody else do my o'e injection sytems than him

its a 500...and not as much as i'd like!

280bhp/280lbft we reckon, but its got 95% of that from 3000 all the way to 6000rpm!

so it is quick!

...but could be quicker

I rather it was sorted last time than have to do it all again. But we ran out of time at 10pm , a few glitches on the way and was just about getting somewhere when time ran out .
I'll let you know when its done (again) but believe me you will notice a difference already .
