Picked up my IS200 SE last weekend, really pleased with it, only problem is the seat.

To me the lumbar is too intrusive in the lower back and non-adjustable. Didnt pick up on it during the 15min test drive but after a week of use it's becoming a big problem.

Anyone else had experiance of this? I'm keen to keep the car and considering taking it to a car upholstery specialist to see if they can alter it?!

I can't say I've noticed any problems with the lumber support on my seat. Maybe you could try tilting the seat forward/back, that may help.

Yes I've tried to adjust the seat accordingly, seems to help a bit but journeys of 30mins plus and it gets uncomfortable.

I suffer from lordosis ( http://stronglifts.com/lordosis-why-it-causes-lowe... ) so the lumbar support that is designed for Mr Average normally causes me more trouble than good. Normally I'd wind the lumbar out and problem solved but I'm disappointed that the Lexus has no adjustment, I should have checked before buying but too late now!!

All I can do is hope something can be done to remove or reduce the lumbar, otherwise it might be for sale :-(

Maybe you could fit front seats from a GS, although that might be costly and I've no idea if they'd fit.

I think Clen might be your cheapest option wink

GS seat does look very comfortable.

Popped into car seat upholstery/coackworks yesterday - no experiance of Lexus IS seats so quoted £80 - £120 +vat because it's only once they take the seat apart will then know if the lumbar can be removed or reduced.
