I had my XJ8 set up at Paramount a couple of years ago, its been a fantastic improvement and I have been very, very happy with it.
However, over the last few weeks I have noticed a definite flat spot on full throttle, low rev pick up, as if there is a `hole` developing in the fuelling programme.
I had new plugs and a fresh K&N as part of the service in October and all has been fine until the last couple of weeks. There are no other symptoms, no other variables and I am guessing that a visit to a rolling road and some tweaks to the ecu should rectify any issues.
Its a long trip back to Paramount so does anyone have any thoughts or even better any pointers to skilled rolling road and ecu guru`s in Scotland?

An ECU map is not likely to develop a 'hole'. I would look for something mire physical.
Maybe... Throttle body dirty, egr valve, elec prob... Ignition oe maf. Bit of diagnostic work would not go amiss.

I'm interested to know more about wha t Para did. Was it a remap? What benefits did you gain in perf/drivability/mpg?

Not only but also.. Spark plugs, air flow meter, induction system leak, blocked part throttle breather? That's the one on the LH bank - there's a calibrated 2.5mm hole in the coupling on top of the cam cover, make sure it's not blocked and the pipe is clear.

I don't have a rolling road Peter, simply because I've never found the need for it, but I'd be happy to have a look at your Jag and carry out a diagnostic. I'm in Hillington in Glasgow just off the M8.

Contact details from my website through my profile on here.

Regards,

James.

Thanks for the replies.
6-Speed; Paramount made a number of modifications. This is my atmos XJ8 so the gains are not nearly as dramatic as those to my XJR, that said, they really did make a significant difference to the car.
The initial dyno run gave a figure of 246.0 at the flywheel and after a cold air intake system, cat back replacement system and a reprogramme of the ecu we ended the day with 273.7 at the flywheel. I also went for the lowered spring and sports shox plus a change from Pirelli to Michelin tyres. So quite a lot of changes all at once, making it harder to isolate particular differences accurately.
My inital impressions were that the car sounded faster, but not un-Jaguar!!
Fuel consuption stayed pretty much the same initially but seemed to improve slightly after a few hundred miles.
No real change to ride comfort but a very dramatic change in reduced body roll and weight transfer under heavy breaking. Also at higher speed the car feels very much more planted, lower ride height helping here.
Throttle response became brilliantly crisp throughout the rev range. And to be fair, it still is, I just can feel a hesitation under initial full load now.
Overall I must say I was very happy with both the quality of the Paramaount kit and their whole service ethic.
James; thanks. I will be in touch this week.
