Would be grateful for any ideas anybody might have on a weird fault my 97 Chim has developed.
The car (fitted with the original Meta alarm)cranks over but refuses to start. After eliminating various other possible faults i.e. fuel pump, fuses , coil, distributor cap, I have identified that the fuel injectors are not receiving the pulses from the ECU (no reading on an LCD multimeter). Interestingly, after disconnecting the battery and re-connecting it the car worked for a whole day but now its not starting again and no amount of dis-connecting and re-connecting helps
To add insult to injury my wokmate has lent me a Peugot 309

Thanks for the reply - it may be looking that way, I've spoken to one local garage that thinks one of the sensors may not be functioning properly but I wouldn't have thought that would have stopped the pulse signal going to the injectors. Time and money will tell I guess
I will keep PH posted.
I will keep PH posted.Well in case anyboby does a search and finds this thread - I will just give you an update on the situation.
After a couple of referals I have finally confirmed the ECU is a fault (R reg only 34K on the clock !) the nice guys at Austec let me try it in one of their cars. A Repair is being arranged for 200.00 GBP (Camco88) so it's not too bad an end I guess...
N.B. Been told to check the earth on the ECU and that the output on the alternator is correct.
