ID a song from the 80's

Sorry I have limited hints but I would love to track an 80' tune down...

I am not that musically minded sadly, but I would love to hunt this tune down, I was around 4 or 5 years old so around 1983/4 I am guessing. I seem to remember the video of the tune following the artist around various London landmarks, mainly along the Southbank where my father worked.

That is about all I can remember, I pretty sure it was well known at the time and have occasionally heard it on the radio over the years, I would love to know what song it is and also watch the video again!

Any suggestions would be very welcome!

Not much to go on I afraid, I don't think it was Howard Jones, but close.

I seem to remember the singer going down lots of steps and perhaps an escalator, I am pretty sure it was a solo male singer with typical 80's pop music as backing.
