Absolutely, but according to Renault's team boss, Kubica is in a stable condition and the operation on his hand has been a success. It is unlikely that he will be back in an F1 car in time for the start of the season, therefore of all the available drivers, who would you choose if you had to make the decision?According to Gary Anderson in this weeks Autosport magazine he thinks that the new Renault looks very very good. Also Robert Kubica ended up fastest at the test last week so it seems like the car is definitely well in the points probably a podium contender and maybe if developed right a potential dark horse (well it is painted black now) winner.
Under the circumstances this could be a pivotal season for the team to move back to the front end of the grid with the big boys. Although this is a great shame that KB will most likely have to sit the season out it does mean that they need a serious well proven driver to take the team forward.
None of the drivers on the voting list fits the bill they are all stand in men of whom Heidfield and Hulkenberg are the best choice. Therefore IMHO Renault need to lean on all concerned and find the dosh to put Kimi Raikkonen in the car. He may be a moody little fellow but give him the right car and he will give you the trophies. He is a proven winner and I am still trying to work out how he nicked that championship away from Mclaren, but he did and he is bloody fast on the right day.

The well heeled, older drivers are offering less and less to teams these days. Renault are well established and with a very experienced team behind them. Virgin or HRT, yes, they need experienced drivers. But not Renault. I think they should go for broke in a car that might be very good this year and put Senna in.
give senna a go, the HRT was awful, if he doesn't deliver they can always change it down the line

i don't really see a reason to go for hulkenburg over senna, he did quite well in his junior career on the way to F1, but i think part of that was down to him being the year or so below a very strong group of drivers, he probably does deserve another go but he's had a year with a decent team already, Senna hasn't

I am not rying to be rude but can you ever see Senna ever winning an F1 race or do you really think that he has the development experience that Renault need from the No1 driver. Robert Kubica must have a large input into helping the team develop the car on track as could Raikkonen. If the number 1 driver did not bring something extra to a team and the on track car development then there would not be any top paid drivers and there would be no need to go testing it could all be worked out on a computer or in the wind tunnel.

I honestly can see Senna winning. Perhaps not this year, but definitely in the future. Long gone are the days of pounding around test tracks getting minute differences into the car. Some might say that means the rare time you do get in the car means it's even more important, but my take is that it means the engineers and the experience of the team is even more key.
With a good team behind I think Senna could be very good this year. However, I'm almost certain we won't get to find out anyway
