I picked this little chap up off ebay. The guy who was selling it advertised it as an S4 elan seat and was adamant that he bought it as a spare many years ago. I'm 99% sure it's from an old TVR judging by photo's of others I've seen but I'm not sure which model. Would the early S2 have had a lower backed version to this design? Were the original runners from another seat model or bespoke TVR?

I'm certain it's not a Lotus seat which is probably why nobody was really interested in it apart from me!It has a fibre glass tub if that helps. I haven't got any seats for my early S2 Vixen but it would be good to plan for a pair. If this is an early TVR seat I think the chances of me picking up another to match this one are remote to say the least, unless any of you guys know different? I would love to have original Vixen seats if I can find another, even if it's just the glass tub and I can use this one as a template.

Blimey, I used to have a pair of these in my supercharged spitfire, way back in 76 !!

I have not seen any for years but If I remember, they were aftermarket jobbies and not OE.

They could be early Corbeau?

I have a very early 2500M with Vixen wheels, will it have the same seats as a Vixen?
If so,i've fitted Lotus seats so don't need them.

It certainly looks like a Vixen seat. I believe the Lotus seats of the day were very similar but not sure what the differences were.

I guess it could well be an "M" seat. It would be great for me to try and find some original seats but I have to be realistic about what might still be available, especially when I'm on a tight budget. I would be happy with another one to match this one if it really is going to be virtually impossible to get original seats. I'm not too keen on many of the after market "retro" mini style seats but it might have to be an option if I can't find a mate for the one I already have.

Hi Tom,

My Vixen S2 has identical seats to that one, (think you did well there, shame it was,nt a pair).
Fairly sure those are original. For the price of a telephone call to thegamekeeper(Steve Reid),you could put your mind at rest.
You may get lucky and find a pair.(He has a big loftbiggrin)

Andy.
