Just bought a mercedes 500e for the collection

Just had the car recovered to sunny Milton Keynes as it has been in storage for a couple of years and thought i should not drive it back. (must be getting old and sensible, not to many years ago i would have loved hooning it up the M1)

She is going in for a full service, dizzy caps and arms in the morning, then i will stick her in for a mot and see what happens

Its a 1991 car, imported in 1997.

I will take some pictures tomorrow load the up.

the reg. number is J562 DYP. I would love to know some history of the car. I believe it was sold buy Charles Ironside 4/5 years ago and that is all i know.

If anyone has any tips and advise i would love to know

If it was sold by Ironside it should be in the "Past Sales" section of his website as the records there definitely go back that far. I looked at a silver J-reg 500E from him in 2006 but the numberplate is wrong.

Thanks for thank, i have looked through aswell but it's not listed. i did phone ironside and he does remember selling car and told me a bit about it.

Car has been given a full service, steering damper, dizzy caps and arms, changed engine oil twice. have had to sent rear calapiers to have blead nipples drilled out as seized in. new one only available from germany) All wheel have been balanced.Have ordered a new o/s/r shock as knocking and two new sphers as suspenson rock hard.

Should have it ready for mot in a couple of days.

Have found the radio code for the orignal becker radio (yipee)

Will keep you updated with how things are going.by the way the rad. has just gone, what are my chances of getting one of them tomorrow!
