My mk1 has started being a little tappety when warm!

I'm used to every so often when its cold - sometimes it does it for a few seconds sometimes it doesn't.

But for the last few days i've notcied that after I get off the motorway on the way to work (approx 20 mile motorway trip at circa 70 - 80) it sounds very very tappety.

After a few miles of the motorway at more normal road speeds it seems to stop.

Oil change sort this out or is it a sign of something more serious?

Nothing to worry about. Change the oil and it'll probably quieted down too

Same. Oil change with full synthetic. If you know anyone with Costco membership you can get Mobil1 0W-40 for about £25 which is ideal. As long as it clears up quickly I wouldn't bother doing a flush before the oil change as this can cause problems on an older car.
