I was listening to Somewhere in Time by Iron Maiden when I went yesterday. The song Deja Vu has the perfect rhythm for my footfalls, I guess about 145BPM. Can't for the life of me find many other rock/metal stuff at that speed and all the running stuff on iTunes is stupidly fast, 155BPM and more.

So, Deja Vu on the Somewhere in Time album by Iron Maiden hehe

I will listen to owt that helps me, rock, dance, r&b isn't that good for running but some rappy songs can be.;)
I like to listen to the He-Man cartoon when I sprint out, as Driller says I like something that can help you settle into a nice footfall, not sure if that's the speed or beat.
Thanks for the examples.

TV on the Radio - Wolf like me has a fantastic running rhythym. A lot of the rest of their stuff is too slow and covers too many different genres to be work though.

I don't run on one particular album, I have about 500 odd songs that I just keep adding to a running playlist and press shuffle.

David Bowie - China Girl is another favourite running one (works for me, not for everyone)

So - quick squiz to see what comes up,

Terrorvision, Interpol (certain tracks, not all of theirs works) Tom Petty, Empire of the Sun, some favourite Twilight Sad songs (e.g. I became a prostitute), very old 70s ZZ Top, Temper Trap, selected Editors tracks, Queens of the Stone Age, Death Cab for Cutie, Billy Idol, Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros.

Some people like to run to podcasts and audio books, but I switch off too much.

For some reason (if you are into the dance stuff) - Oribital "Way Out" I find really good to run to!

Generally, any music that isnt chillout is good for me

I find dance music is no good running (although great for cycling). Guess my jogging pace is far slower than cycling pace.

Prefer to jog to a few power ballads or 80's classics instead.

White Stripes - The Hardest Button To Button

got a good rhythm for running.
