So I need your opinions please: which is better for versatility/looks/resale value?

I used to have an A23322 Navitimer (black/baton), but sold it on to settle some debts, regretted it instantly and now I have the chance to get another in black. I already have a silver baton dial A23322 Navitimer.

I have an itch though, an IWC itch. I like the 3717 Pilot Chrono, on a black croc strap. IMO, not as striking to look at, but still very classic and understated.

Both are similar price pre-owned.
I don't intend to go near any water with either watch, so WR isn't an issue. The IWC has the extra complication of the Day, which is nice...

thanks

The Navitimer is a classic though I do find the dial a little busy.

The IWC 3717-01 has a black printed dial, which I agree is not 'pretty' but it is the classic functional pilot chrono look with white arabic numbers.

Perhaps consider the 3717-02 Spitfire Chrono, which has a (silver-plated) tiered, applied dial. I recently bought one and find it stunning to look at.

The Spitfire is a fantastic watch to admire, very nice indeed.
If i didn't have the silver Navitimer, I might've been tempted.

I happened to find this selection from Steinhart. It may be the answer to my wishes! I could get the Navitimer AND a Steinhart! You could say it is Homage, but there are enough subtle differences to separate it from the 371x. What do you think?

I've just bought a Steinhart Aviation GMT and I'm very impressed with the quality given the prices, will definitely consider adding more in the future.

I'd be tempted by the Navi and one of the Steinharts if it were me.

Thats good that you are happy with your Steinhart.
I'm really liking the Pilot 44mm watch (looks like a B-Uhr but much smaller) Now i'm thinking: Forget the Navi, and get 2 Steinharts. hmmmm

The Steinhart's do look good value. Another option might be Archimede: http://www.thewatchdepartment.co.uk/archimede-watc...

You could also consider a Fortis B-42 Pilot Professional Chrono:

Damn! Why did you have to complicate things! smile
They do look pretty good, simple and legible - but I've not heard of Archimede before...and having trouble viewing that website; i keep getting displaced! I'm a bit weary of (Archimede) photoshopped galleries. The Steinhart snapper seems to have done a very good job of capturing the single AR and lume, which 'shopped images don't.

I've often pondered the Fortis brand in the past, but they seem more function than form: maybe appealing to the same kind of person who likes Bell&Ross. I was looking for something more traditional from the aviation golden age....yes the 7750 isn't traditional, but the dial markings and case are.
