Are MX5 door skins made of tin foil?!?!

I've had to use my MX5 as a daily this week whilst waiting for a new car, parking it in car parks etc

And I now have 3 new door dings

Just unlucky or are they very, very thin door skins?

In word yes they are made of tin foil. Light though. I moved from the sticks about a year ago & now live in a city, since then my doors have taken on the appearance of a lunar surface. I think people just don't see little 5s from their huge 4x4s (or care for that matter).
