1984, by George Orwell.

Fast becoming a non-fiction novel.

It's to protect the workforce don't you know - so they'll obviously switch them off at night or on the 3 days a week there doesn't seem to be anyone on site doing any work, won't they?

hahahahhahaha, funny guy!

Surprised to see this open so soon actually...
Southbound is meant to open on Sunday too.

Think the whole thing is meant to be completed by June(ish)?

I for one think the new road will be great, I won't use it often, but it will reduce traffic on the old A80 which means I'll be able to get to my favourite Chinese takeaway in Muirhead in much less time smile

I'm sure they will take them away when they have finished the road owrks. A while back when they were doing the roadworks on the M8 near the airport they put SPECS up while htye did the work then took them away again.

And replaced them with a 40MPH speed limit; the only one on a British motorway. Madness!!

They police it regularly with unmarked cars, so be warned.

I assume your coming off at the new Westfield junction? if so you definately pass 2 if your coming out from Glasgow. Best be careful.

I agree, total madness!

All it appears to do is cause more problems as 'law abiding' citizens slow down to 40 mph in lanes 1 and 2, which causes people wanting to go slightly faster into lane 3, which in turn blocks others (ahem) from going that little bit faster again.

Are the M80 SPECS defintely all active? Everytime I'm on that road I sit at 40-ish while tons of traffic thunders past, and not only the retards that then stamp on the brakes at every camera. Seem to always be passed by artics doing a good 10mph + more than me too, they either know something I don't, or don't value their jobs much...

It's annoying isn't it? Surprised that they police it with unmarked as I rarely see most cars doing less than 50 and some fly by me at 80...

Just wondering if anyone has any more information on these cameras?

I use the full stretch of this upgrade and just continue to see more and more clearly speeding through at 50mph+. As others have said this includes HGVs, National Express Coaches and even motorway maintenance vehicles!

Even during the night not all the cameras have the infra-red beam working.

Has anyone even been prosecuted or are they just a con?
