MK1 Focus wiper blade/jet mix-up issue

Hi,

I've got an 02 plate Ford Focus and there seems to be a confusing issue with the wipers and the jets.

The button that pushes in on the stalk is meant to spray the front window where on my car it'll spray the rear and the front wipers will automatically start.

And if I pull the stalk towards me to wash the rear window it'll spray the front and the rear wiper will start.

I've upgraded the stalk and put one in with the intermittent adjustment on, but a new stalk hasn't resolved the issue.

I'm not sure how the car has got itself mixed up and how to fix this.

Has any one got any ideas?

hmm, I wonder if the pipes have come off and been put back on the wrong way around? I may be talking bks but it is a common problem on Mondeo's.............

I'll look into it. And check the trusty Haynes for where the pipes are.

One pump does both. It turns one direction to do the back, the other direction to do the front. There's a one-way valve to stop air getting in. Likely the pipes are mixed.
