1st TVR - 4.2 Black Cebera - Info needed

Just picked up my 1st TVR- 2004 Black 4.2 - Mental! - BUT there a few TVR probs!
Wipers not working - checked fuse -it was blown! - changed it - wipers worked once and then stopped - fuse now ok but no wipers - prob the motor?
The carpets are soaking - mainly under and behind the seats - it looks like the last owner did not garage it - window seals? or ??
There is a miss-fire/flat spot when you floor it @ about 40-60 mph in 4th/5th gear?
I am based in Bristol/Yeovil Somerset - where do you recomend for repairs/parts/service etc?

Welcome to the mad world of Cerberas - good choice!!
You need to lose a few hours on here reading up on past posts. There's a load for water ingress into the footwell and you will need to spend some time lying upside down!!
Not sure about the wipers or who to use locally, but the nutters
will be along soon with unbelievably helpful advice - it's a Cerbera thing!! 
Oh, and before they say it, please take care on the roads with it until you're properly used to it. 
Obviously, we'll be needing pictures...

Good Choice of a 'real' car - Hope you enjoy it, it usually takes a while to 'Get it'
Wet Carpets - Check the Clutch reservoir cover is sealed correctly, also the Door seals.
Wiper Problems - The wipers are pretty crap, they don't like a dry screen, but if it has just stopped, then it's more than likely a motor problem unfortunately
Mis Fire/Flat spot - Flooring it at 40-60 in 5th is a bit low really, thats almost 1st gear territory - the Engine isn't a 'V8' it's 2, 4 Cylinder engines bolted together, you need to work it

Windscreen Wiper return switch is always worth replacing. It will give you a chance to check the motor's location and whether it is sitting in a pool of water as well. The switch costs a few quid. You will also be able to check the drive. If the motor's shagged then you might be able to get one s/h from the breakers that are advertised on here or new from CleverTrevor.
As you mention wet carpets under and behind the seats then it's prob not ingress from driver's footwell. I'd go with the doorseal. Firstly I hope you're gonna garage it. If so then I'd wait for it to dry out then place tissue paper/bog roll all around the seal to try and find the entry point.
I have heard that water can get inside the door from the window seal and then ingress through badly sealed door-card bolts - maybe worth checking for those seals too.
As the others have said - that is low revs to fully boot the motor from.
There is a common fault on Cerbs to have a flat spot at about 2400 rpm - mine was accentuated when the ECU was changed. Short term answer, be in a lower gear (and watch out for tailspin). Longer term answer, take it to Dulfords who are brilliant guys who know their stuff.
I'm the new Cerbera Editor for the TVRCC so would really like to hear any of your good and bad stories about initial ownrship so please keep me updated

Yup, unless then engines been remapped the toque curve comes in fairly exponentially at 3K revs so you can poodle about in lower revs but it's a bit sluggish. 40mph is third gear territory at cruise (when pushing it you can do about 115 indicated before 3rd to 4th Enjoy.
)Yes it was - seems good car but last owner used it daily and kept it outside i think - hence the very wet carpets and overall grubby appearance close up - but after a good clean and touch up its looking good - after the advise received here i am booking it in at Dulfords for a check over and to sort the few initial issues out!
I wanted a Cerbera after having a Noble because i have two boys who now can both experience the speed and noise! at the same time - hope to travel up to Goodwood this year with my mate who owns a Sagaris - will post some pics soon - 4.2 V8 black with black interior - just what i wanted!
