So i need something sharpish to get to and from work since my pile of junk got worse (not worth the fix)...there's tonnes of ad's out there for stuff under 1k, it's somewhat overwhelming, i know i won't get alot for my measily sum but i don't want to purchase an instant problem either....i'm broke so any help/tips from PH'ers would be much appreciated. (it's probably a big ask, and i guess what ever i go for is always going to be a gamble, but any input would be a great help)

Bournemouth is probably a bit far but I have a 2 owner Golf GTI with full history which I was going to sell in the spring for £800 but willing to sell now to a fellow PH'r if you are interested.

Thinks he's looking for replacement of '98 1.2 punto
something for £500 so he can keep £500 just in case?

yep that punto has had it. Would be a good tactic but i think £500 would be buying a problem. although short term.

Whatever is local to you - no point spending loads travelling to a car if you've got a tight budget.

Do a postcode-price search on Autotrader.

Its £500 over your budget and needs tax but this is a steal http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2373233.htm

I (I mean the owner wink ) may take the balance at £20 a week for a PHer.
