Didnt realise how many other Police Forums there were.
As a matter of interest, how many people who participate on this Forum, regularly contribute to other Website Forums? (Or is this a leading question?)

Ive only got enough time to post on this one.......especially now.

perhaps it's a bit like friendsreunited. No point in joining others when everyone seems to come here. Or maybe not. Who knows. Good forum though.

Occasionally I pop over to keep an eye on the peeps in www.policespecials.com - They have me in absolut stitches.

One guy was trying to find out if it was an offence for a yoof to walk around with his hands down his pants.

I've just joined this forum - haven't seen any others. I always thought www.policespecials.com wasn't very good myself...

For the record, I'm a PC on a traffic (sorry, "road polcing") department - what's left of it anyway.

I'd say there's plenty to go at here - I don't always agree with all the views I see, but so what? A difference of opinion isn't going to kill me - but some 16 year old scrote in an Astra just might. They all think they can drive... shame they don't have to stick to the same rules as we do...

Thanks Puggit and Gemini.

I'm fairly thick skinned... like the time when the (middle class, middle aged, middle England) magistrates found two squaddies not guilty of Police assault for pushing me over then kicking me. They said it was possbile I had tripped on the kerb, then the squaddies had tripped trying to help me up...

I wouldn't have minded quite so much, if it hadn't been DIRECTLY UNDER a CCTV camera, and all captured on tape...

Still, if you can't take a joke, you shouldn't have joined...

I sympathise with you personally.

Not as a group though. We all see Policemen using violence and getting away with it. I have personal experience of Police bullying (to extremes) young people to get "results". The Police as a group refuse to do anything about their "bad apples".

So "Good apples" get crap. The thing to do is not complain about it, but to sort out the crap.

I think I understand what you're saying.

It's frustrating enough for us when the "scrotes" get off when we know they're guilty... but for us, they'll "come again"... it's the victims that get shortchanged...

But you're right, there's no excuse fo not doing it right. And don't worry, there's PLENTY of "career minded" graduates ready to drop you in the mire, even for a genuine mistake, if it will further their swift rise to the top...

But please remember, we're human too, and have our good and bad days. And the shifts sure don't help...

Hello there W (if I may call you that, rather than WMHV70) and welcome to PH.

A little while ago there were some exchanges of viewpoint going on in one topic where unfortunately the tone deteriorated somewhat, which I was sorry to see. Then someone reminded us that we are fortunate to have several serving Traffic Officers communicating with us, and I am very glad they are with us here.

All I would ask is that we have our various points of view respected, even if we have disagreements at times.

Having said that, I have not forgotten that 'gone' and I must return to a certain subject and clear that matter up.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Dave, thanks for the welcome. I don't have a problem listening to other views, that's the whole point of these forums, even if I don't always agree with them all.

Just for the record, I don't always agree with all speed enforcement. Unfortunately, I'm paid to do a job, and can't pick and choose which bits I want to do or not. Guess that's the same for most people though.

I sometimes look at www.5ive-o.com/web/index.php

You have to register to read the forums but they are a well informed bunch.

Sorry if this stirs up any past trouble!!
