Alternator belt problem on pre-serp with air con.

I have a Pre-serp Griff 500 with air con which means it has the alternator mounted on the near side of the car, it has a long belt which has come off a couple of times since I’ve owned, normally this only happens when its revved hard.

I was wondering if anyone has some sort of jockey wheel on the belt, I think this would help the belt located better. Any idea if I could get one from another car?

I know Guillotine had something on the belt but I think that’s to do with his have PAS.

Usually a sign that the belt needs replacing, is not tensioned correctly or the pulleys are slightly out of alignment.

I did wonder about the pulley’s but they seems straight, I think the problem might be the length of the belt means as soon as there is a bit of play, it starts to flap which is why I think some sort of jockey wheel would be a good idea.
