My parents are approaching 70 and have owned a manual E30 318i for the past 10 years or so, which they are looking to replace. Before that they owned a 205 XS for 10 years. Chances are that they will keep their next car for 10 years.

My father has his eye on a used Nissan Note 1.6 automatic for around £6,000. Decent access, a hatchback, low running costs, comfort, air-con and an autobox are the main considerations. They do around 4,000 miles a year mainly in town but around a third on motorways. He doesn’t want a diesel.

Any other suggestions in that price area?

Anyone own a Note care to share their experience?
