Insurance premiums on supercars.........
Discussion
No point in going into numbers as they depend on area, age, driving history etc etc.
Normal companies are generally prohibitive but there are specialists who cover them. Usually all done on limited mileage policies.
As a steer, my 355 is about the same price as my E36 M3. And both are cheaper than my g/f 2007 bog standard Audi TT.

Thanks guys. I didn't realize that premiums can be cheaper than things like M3's etc.
There's nothing to stop you doing a quote on a website, say Admiral or something, and just cycle through changing the car to see what they come out at - it's actually quite interesting! As somebody has already said there are many different factors that will make premiums different, some people are just lucky and their personal statistics may drop into a low risk category meaning insuring a supercar/high performance sports car is relatively "cheap" compared to what the average person may think it costs to insure a supercar.
The lowest price i've seen was a Gallardo spyder for around the £400 mark, IME Lambo's seem low in cost to insure (obviously that will vary per insurer).
I do know of a policy that had an F40 on it but I was dealing with a question regarding it rather than the policy itself so I didn't look at the premium.
Strangely Noble M12 GTO seem very cheap for people you'd think to be expensive, an example is myself 23 no ncb in my name no accidents or convictions and a quote for the Noble is about £1000 which is only marginally more than what i'll be paying for my next car (only a fiesta Zetec).
A quote for someone with full Ncb decent driving history consistantly comes in around £500, bizzare!.

if you're interested, then you're half way to motivated, in which case it will happen
Not on my salary it won't unfortunately..... I have always from a young age adored Lamborghini's & dreamt of owning one.I did have the privilege of driving a Gallardo around Silverstone last May & that experience will stay with me forever.
On many occasions over many years either at various car shows, track and pub meetings or just when parked in a motorway service area, the number of people who have said words like 'I'll never own a Lamborghini' is depressingly remarkable.
If you don't subscribe to astrological b'lox or some such fateful hogwash and nonsense, we write or pre-decide our own story in so many ways, so why not write it for a better outcome for ourselves?
A bunch of teenage lads meandered listlessly around Lamborghini Club UK's marquee at the 2005 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Their 'leader' announced "I'll never own a Lamborghini" as they began to wander away.
I asked how old he was and he said that he was 15 (I think...) so I told him it was very sad and disturbing that at that young age he'd decided, then and forever, that he'd never own a car like the eyecandy-max Diablo they'd just been dribbling all over, (literally...)
One of his mates agreed with me and that what he needed to do was add a bit of positive thinking and try saying just the opposite in order to give himself a chance. (actually, that's me paraphrasing a lot of pseudo street talk but, y'know...)
By the end of the conversation, all of them had decided to change their point of view and instead they wanted to say, "I will have a Lamborghini one day".
My point is, if you decide you'll never own a Lambo then you probably never will. On the other hand, a lot of Lamborghini owners (and Ferrari and Porsche and Maserati and Whatevercar owners) have relatively little money but have done what they needed to do to acquire the car they wanted.
Of certainty, they didn't begin the process of acquiring their car with the words, "I'll never ..."

I hear what you are saying but I am not 15, I am 34 & been in the same job for 17 years & have reached as high as I can go. It's a good job & very respectable but poor pay. I could try something else but I don't know anything else & that's my down fall.
