Gents

It must be the cold in the garage but can anyone give me guidance.

Pleased to report been using the Wedge quite bit through the winter for my daily commute but finally the CIBIES have rotted to bits and need replacing. So, we are on with a project to replace them with a pair of 70 or 90mm projectors - will post photos and notes in due course.

Decided for trial fitting easier to take pod off car aas tolerances will be tight.
Struggling and can't get my head around the guidance in the Bible

The two rear mounting bolts which are wired and are effectively the pivot - no problem>.

The bolt on the inner side of the pod that holds the arm coming up from the motor to the pod. Nut off no problem - but how do you then detach it:
It isn't rusted up but wont pull off

Bolt appears free but doesn't appear to want to extract by a spannner down between pod and inner wing
Is it a mini ball joint which needs a splitter?

Not the most stunning tech problem to challenge the forum with I know but any guidance appreciated

Regards

EWAN

I had the same problem, the bolt on the pod has a plastic bush on which the pivot arm from the motor sits was a very very very tight fit. It took a hell of a lot of persuasion and a fk of a lot of swearing to come off!
The bolt and bushing on the pod stays on the pod unit, you can remove it once you have removed the pod from the car if you need to.

If you take the light out, can you get an arm down with a spaaner? If so remove the nut that secures the lift rod to the motor crank arm and take it out with the pod.

Thanks gents

Twisting a large screw driver head behind the bush worked like knife through butter on passenger side

Driver side detached linkage at motor - much easier.

We shall see how it all goes back together.
