I mailed Alistair about this.
He hasn't got the time available to organise then at the moment, but hopes to get back on track in the summer.
As it is almost a one man show, after the commitment he put in over the last couple of years, I am sure he deserves a break.
That said .. if you fancy a sunday meet somewhere, post a suggestion and see who's available

Didnt want to start a what car thread. But i really cant make up my mind.
This guy is local and has some interesting motors www.stephenjamesmotors.co.uk

Just to give you guys a bit of an update.
I will be running 4 events this year.
Work commitments are taking precedent this year and I cannot commit a lot of time to organise these events.
Also, over the past year, the event has grown too large for the museum,
I have had a meeting with them today and the outcome is we will run 4 events and have a maximum of 200 cars at each event.
This will be by pre booking/invite only.
I encountered several problems last year with clubs turning up en masse with 20-30 cars without letting me know.
This caused not only headaches for myself and Cosford, but also had a knock on effect to clubs who had come along and found their space had already been taken.
The proposal for 2011 will be to have a maximum of 8 clubs per event, with a maximum of 20 cars per club, which will leave space for about 40-50 cars which I envisage being PH members and local Classic Car owners.
dates have nearly been finalised and I will post them here hopefully tomorrow.
Looking at May, July, September and a Xmas meet on December 18th (confirmed!)
Both myself and the museum will be strict with the numbers (we have to else the event risks been axed!!)
all clubs must pre book, and it will be on a first come first served basis but priority will always be given to those cars which have more appeal, as that's what people want.

Thanks coxy, for all your hard work setting these meetings up, I and my family have really enjoyed them. We will have moved out of the area by the next meeting by the sound of it, which is a shame I was hoping to get another one in before we leave, its a cracking venue but clearly the numbers attending last year were getting pretty huge and starting to cause a bit of strain.
Thanks again
Thanks again

Will we be able to turn up and park in the car park, just to look at the interesting cars? It does sound more appealing as you describe it, rather than there being so many of the same model as happens when clubs come en masse.all clubs must pre book, and it will be on a first come first served basis but priority will always be given to those cars which have more appeal, as that's what people want.

Whatever happens, thanks for sorting everything out previously. The Sunday meets have been great. I will be running 4 events this year.

P.S - you may already be aware, but if not, 4 Star Classics have a very interesting Audi 100 for sale at the moment. Thought you might be interested in taking a look....

Coxy, I've said it many times, well done on organising these meets, we've all throughly enjoyed them.
My only comment on the potential new format, is that that having the event 3/4 handed over to car clubs, is really going to restrict the rest of us who just turn up on our own. I don't know what the answer is to accomodate everyone and as ever being the organiser is a thankless job and you'll never please everyone!
Good luck with everything, I do hope the event continues and attracts the diverse metal it's famous for. If nothing else, I don't think RAF Cosford could stand to lose the parking and bacon buttie revenue

probably applicable to both so have quoted ya both!!!My only comment on the potential new format, is that that having the event 3/4 handed over to car clubs, is really going to restrict the rest of us who just turn up on our own. We could do but to be fair, PH members probably only account for about 10% of the people who turn up.
That said, it's the PH'ers who turn up in the more interesting cars and that's what we want!
If I knew 40-50 PHers were coming then I'd reduced the amount of space for other clubs anyway!
So anyway, these are the dates for 2011
Sunday May 22nd
Sunday July 10th
Sunday September 25th
Sunday December 18th

yup, that's my old one! Nice to see 4 star only giving it a small mark up on value (about 20 gazillion percent!!!!!!)
Wihtout wanting to sound snobby or elitest, I have noticed a bit of a decline in the interesting stuff, and a rise in the more - how shall we say - modified euroboxes.
I've spoken to a fair few people who are no longer attend for this reason, so I welcome the proposed changes.
Appriciate the time and effort that goes into organising something like this though, can't be easy!
Yep there has been a change in the cars turning up however I like them, at the moment I go in my MG tourer as I have been building another car for the last year but I like the BC because it helps to build my enthusiasm for a lovely car. Also lets not forget the bacon...
Well if I can be any help let me know, maybe its time for a list on the BC website we can sign up to and make it more automated?

Although I'd say there is still the same amount of decent cars but overall, it get's watered down by the not so interesting stuff somewhat!!!

Perhaps these Euro box's that you talk about in such contempt are owned by people who really appreciated nice cars, and are not in a financial position to buy one. But would like to display there own cherished vehicles whilst looking at other more exotic cars.
I don't see why people who are truly enthusiastic should be excluded, just because they own what you percive as a lesser vehical.
I would have though that true petrol heads would look past the car and see the care and attention the owner has put into the vehicle
At the end of the day that’s what really maters.
Despite my user name I no longer own an ST, but have an RS. But I’m sure you would say that was a crap Euro-box too, as it has its practical applications rather than just being built for speed, handling and breaking.
I look forward to your response

I suppose such a statement about the type of car that was perceived as being worthy or not worthy would be a contentious one and I wouldn't think that rolling up in an RS would be seen as a crap Euro-box.Perhaps these Euro box's that you talk about in such contempt are owned by people who really appreciated nice cars, and are not in a financial position to buy one. I have a crap Euro-box (which has never been to the MBC) as you may well wish to describe it

Personally I like the eclectic mix of cars that do turn up however there has been an increase in the number of less interesting cars turning up which clearly haven't had any care and attention and would be difficult to describe as someone P&J. Are these enthusiasts or folk just out for a mooch on Sunday at some nice cars?
I'm not intending to get into a squabble but if your perception is that an RS is a crap Euro-box in this context how do you think the people feel who can't afford a £20-30k car and wish to goto the MBC?

as well as another car that would be deemed as being appropriate for the MBC based on previous comments.

I never stated that I perceived my RS as a Crap Euro-box, I implied that the manner in which the discussion was going on this topic implied that you and others perceived that anything other than exotic (Aston, Porsche, Ferrari to name a few) was not welcome, due to it being an “inferior” and “Common” vehicle. I have been to plenty of car shows to understand that it is not how much money people have which makes their love of car’s but their passion.
I have seen some truly un-sympathetic owners of £250,000 cars do terrible things, that I would cringe at doing to my Fiesta ST commuting car.
Thus I’m sure you would let in an owner of an unloved TVR over a pristine and much loved Fiesta ST for example.
