A decent compact that will Zoom whilst recording HD video?

Guys,

Looking for a decent compact (say 10+ Megapixel) that will do HD video and that will allow you to ZOOM whilst recording??

My current Sony wont allow you to - once you start recording then thats it!

Heard good things about the Canon range ??

Would also prefer if it DIDNT shoot video in AVCHD format!

Thanks! But I thought the Panasonics filmed in AVCHD or is it selectable?

The reason many cameras don't allow zooming during movie recording is because the microphone picks up the nose of the lens motor.
