Personal opinion, and bearing in mind this sort of shot aint my forte....the foliage and associated colour contrasts draw your eye away from what should be the main point of focus. On the whole I think you're about half a stop under where you could be on this one, and the composition (paw crop mainly) seems a bit snatched. There's some mood to it, I get the feeling that something happened just before this that caused you to reach for the camera

Hi Andy, thanks for the feedback, I will have a play with the image in PS and try to tidy up the composition. To be honest it was more or a point a shoot pic rather than one that is carefully composed, as within a few seconds of crouching down to his level he shot over to try and lick my face, so I had to be very quick.
