Define "better".

I've not driven either. Been a passenger in the Renault 200 and it seemed perfectly competent if a little lardy.

Is it a VAG forum by any chance?

I cant think of any way in which the Skoda is better than the Clio

The Skoda is easier to drive, more economical, will 'feel' quicker and is more practical.

I voted Renault .

If thats got the same 1.4 supercharged & turbocharged engine thats in the Seat Ibiza then its an amazing little car. I went in one yesterday & was amazed at the pace of it

I voted Skoda, purely on the basis that the Renault will break down as soon as it's off the forecourt.

I would rather be stung for a broken Clio than a broken twin charged seven speed double clutch auto VAG.

Only owned the 1.9TDI fabia VRS but took delivery of a Clio RS 200 On Tuesday.

Given you mean the new Fabia, all I can say is that first impressions of the Clio are very positive.

All of my cars (for the past 8 years in fact) previously have been Turbo powered and usually German. My other car is currently a 911 Turbo and badge snobbery and Frenchness aside, I am happy with it.

Google the reviews of the Clio RS: up there with Evo COTY and top ratings here, there and everywhere.

I've not driven either but I have driven a hire Renault Clio diesel and it was a reasonable basis for a good car so by deduction, I've plumped for the Renault because I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy it more.

There is NO MANUAL OPTION on the VRS.

Therefore the Clio has to win by default.

Indeed, they will have the potential to throw up some huge bills as they get older
