electric handbrake reset.

My 04 s type manual has been stood for about 9 weeks,I went to it yesterday and it started fine but a fault message came up stating a handbrake fault.ive read that these may need resetting.any ideas on the procedure?

Hi .. not an expert, but have a XJ with same system.

There are a few inherent faults & problems with the electronic handbrake, best to search a Jaguar forum for specifics .. but the quickest & easiest way that may solve it is to disconnect the battery for a few minutes (make sure you have radio codes etc).

This will do a re-set.

done a bit of searching as you do!
tested the motor that pulls the cables-works fine.
done the battery off reset thing,it seems to work fine after i have re-calibrated it,but then it go's into fault mode again so i am guessing the control module is up it.
