Possible I reckon - it's a strong engine, especially when mapped, and the car doesn't weigh all that much at all. Also I think it was pretty clean aero wise.

I wouldn't fancy doing 145mph+ with broken suspension...

Doubt it.

It'll not be that accurate, but they'll show that on the speedo if you have a long enough piece of road.
I was joking... I appreciate that the "indicated" 145mph is more likely to be about 130mph and that a Redtop Cav is most likely capable of a true 140mph.

It'll not be far from it. What was the quoted top end when new?

Without wishing to stereotype, at least one of the lights on the dash photo will be the foglights...so the driver is clearly doing 130mph in the fog as only an idiot would turn them on if visibility was good! Wait a minute...

C20XE Cavs are petty rapid when reverted to FWD........C20LET cavs are ridiculously quick for their age and size.

Careful owner isn't far wrong though surely ? We all max our cars sometimes but still service properly and warmed up etc.

Ad. It's ad. As in short for advert. Not add. Add means to put two things together and is short for addition.

I didn't know these cars had single point fuel injection, I always thought they had multi point?

wiki says 150 of vauxhall's finest horses. didn't think that'd be enough to get to an indicated 145...

unless it had a hub speed pickup and the owner put it on mini wheels?!
