I'll post this here first so it doesn't get lost in 10 seconds off the bottom of general gassing...

Has anyone got any experience of good (and preferably cheap) places to arrange a day out rallying/tracking/tank driving a la Red Letter Days? I'm trying to help organise that kind of an outing for a team at work (who've never done anything like this before), and some good recommendations of exactly what's the best to do, where to do it, etc. would be really appreciated. If it's in/near the Midlands (Derby/Birmingham), that'd be great, too.

Cheers all!

You could try Prestwold Hall close to Loughborough if you need something near Derby - www.prestwold-hall.com

Very smart private stately home that uses what used to be wymeswold airfield as its racetrack - haven't used it myself so can't comment on the quality of the track, just know the venue as i come from that area originally - James Agger might know as it is near his empire, the house is pretty smart to put it mildly.

Also what about Donnington - doesn't get much closer to Derby than that.

You could try Everyman at Mallory. Give John Farnham (owner) or Nat Robbins (General Manager) a call on 01455 841670.
John has some spectacular toys ranging from 60 ton Chieftain tank to F1 Tyrell and all points of unsubtlety in between.
