Any track days to the ring soon?

Would a proper Ring Trackday be advised or an open pay per lap day ?
It'd be a sensible pace etc , heard mixed responses in terms of cost and risk.
anyone got a decisive answer ?
2 very different styles, I've not done a trackday there (yet) just 50 odd TF laps. I have to say I really enjoy the mixture of machinery and atmosphere you get on a TF day. I think I'd find a trackday a bit "lonely" as it's nice to have similar cars to have a play against. Although for quick safe lapping I suppose a trackday can have it's advantages, especially if you're nervous about other people's driving/coaches/bikers.It'd be a sensible pace etc , heard mixed responses in terms of cost and risk.

In terms of cost a TF (public) day is likely to be much cheaper, though it will of course depend on how many laps you do, however, for a first trip a handful of laps is likely to be enough. It'd be a sensible pace etc , heard mixed responses in terms of cost and risk.

In terms of risk, well that largely depends on whether you have insurance for TF or not. Read the many Nurburgring insurance threads, for details, however, a trackday will be the less risky option.
So there you go, the decisive answer is:
Cost: TF day (unless you crash)
Risk: track day

Cheers Dan.
I personally love Touristenfahrten (Public) days and will never stop driving them. The mix of cars, bikes, people, weather, all of it combines into a heady mix of excitement, atmosphere and risk I don't think I'll ever tire of.
BUT, I have a Jahreskarte, and am there frequently, so can afford to bimble about with none of the stress and pressure to 'make a lap count' that someone who's paid for 8 laps and is only there for a single busy session that year.
On our track events you have the added benefit and security of a controlled environment and 40 or so well placed trackside marshals warning you of hazards ahead, as well as roving marshals dealing with incidents. As mentioned, the insurance nightmare facing most of us Brits ceases to be an issue.
