just went out for a spin and managed to get done by the rozzers, speeding, but done with no MOT, or so i thought. i questioned the database records.
anyways i need to produce my MOT which has in fact expired a week ago.

do you think i can get my mot sorted this week and take it down to the station as proof or argue that the garage didnt do the mot when the service was done?

having no MOT is a non endorsable 50 quid fine so not exactly the end of the world.

looks like the police dont communicate internally nor fill out their paperwork correctly or follow their own procedures!!

So, i take the car down to the garage to get the mot sorted the day after the coppper pulled me.
Get the mot and take the certificate to the police station to a) see if i can get away with the genuine mistake or b) pay the fine.
So the police officer goes through my car history etc and eventually lets me off as i have approx 5 years worth of mots.
Now i get a court summons.....

Why has the police system showed i brought in my docs and got let off?

You went out without an MOT, got caught speeding.

You should get 3 points for the speeding and a fine for the lack of MOT.

Pay up. End of.

Of course you can't apply an MOT retrospectively, same as insurance, TAX, brake pads after an accident.
