As in the title really.

It's a Baxi Instant 105e, and after you have turned the hot water tap, bath, bathroom or kitchen sink, it doesn't turn itself off or switch back to central heating if the heating is on. You have to waggle the cold tap on and off a few times for the boiler to realise that the hot tap has been switched off.

Any ideas.

Possibly the diaphragm in the diverter valve.

If you drop the front control panel cover down, on the left hand side you'll see a brass diverter valve with a microswitch on the front of it.

A plunger should pop out and press the switch when the hot tap is open. Check to see if it retracts when the tap is turned off.

They are cheap and easy to replace and are a common fault, although I've not heard of it sticking open, they usually refuse to open altogether.

Cheers will have a fiddle, if I can't fix it its getting a service next week anyway.

Right, worked on one of these today doing the same thing.

The dhw diaphragm had leaked around where the pin pops out and the microswitch got wet, thus creating a closed switch and continuously firing the boiler until it over heats.
