Hi guys,

This isn't a for sale thread - rather I'm trying to get a realistic idea of what the cars worth.

It's a '97/P BMW E36 328i Manual Coupe.

She's in Jet Black with immaculate Caramel Leather interior and looks gorgeous.

Mot'd until November, Tax expires June 1st.

The car is an enthusiasts car, totally original and unchanged from factory spec - a real purists car.

She's done 110k miles and has a good history with 14 stamps in the book (BMW have over 20 records of the car).

She's had 3 previous owners (4 in total).

I'm stuck with a valuation on it to be honest - but it's the best you can get and importantly not messed with.

And views appreciated before I decide to sell it or not :-)

Thanks,

Gallen

Is it the sport or se model? You say it has 14 stamps from BMW, when was the last service date/milage?
As mint as it may be there's only a certain amount people will be willing to pay for a 14 year old car and with E46 prices getting ever lower I fear it may not be what you want for it.

It a 328i SE Coupe Manual.
It has the double spoke 16" Alloys (factory fitted) and a rear spoiler.

All original :-) definitely a car for an enthusiast.

I would say circa £2500. The money in these seems to be for high factory spec standard cars, like Sports and the later M-Sport pack cars with very low owners. Seen them up recently for £3500-£4000 on 99 T/V plate with up to 100k miles. Theres currently a lovely 328 Vert (99) up on PH for nearly £6995 with 45k miles FBMWSH, but it's been for sale a long, long time at that price. A limited, but definite market.

I'll just pipe down then because I was going to suggest significantly less than those figures.

I got £1600 for my mint blue 1998 328 coupe on ebay 2 years ago. It wasnt the sport model, but had full leather, dual climate, FSH, an M3 front bumper done at BMW and 112000 miles.
Ive seen a lot overpriced since, and they stay for sale ages. Depends how quick you want to sell.

To be honest if it's done 110,000 on the original nikasil engine then it's not likely to be an issue in my opinion.

Granted, but from a buyers point of view i very nearly cancelled the viewing on my car until the seller managed to cough up the recipt from BMW for a replacement Alusil block.

I'd say you will get £2000 from the car and you will do ok. I paid £1800 for my good condition, 328 sport with 140k on it. I've since spent another 1500 on it so if i was selling i'd look to get 2,500 out of mine. seeing as its an early sport with full lux pack an LSD, has no rust and had the replacement engine at 70k miles.

Paid £1500 for my L reg, 54k mile, mint 325 SE in November. Bit more than I expected to pay but she's a peach. Hoping to get most of that back when I sell at the end of the summer.
