So i get up for work nice and early

-20 this morning, so I get in the car and give a little gas to help it start, so it can defrost while I scrape the windows.

Unfortunatly I accidently hit the brake pedal, which is linked to the fking health and saftey department. which decided in a commitee that i need to be protected from the outside world by locking all the fking doors!

So i step out of the car close the door go to open the rear door to retrive my scraper, then it dawns on me. All the fking doors are locked!

Cue scene from clockwise, as i spend the next 5 mins threatening the car.

15 minutes in vain trying to use a coat hanger, explaining to the wife repeatidly that I need a 3 foot piece of metal with certain dimensions, in the garage. And her trying to explain the lock is frozen. Well unfreeze it with a kettle of water! ARRRRRGH!

after 20 mins finally get in the garage and find a suitable piece of metal and open a window.

The one bright point of my day, the car has defrosted it's self after 30 mins and is warm.

But unfortunatly only after getting half way to work did i realise that i had forgotton to put the heated seats on.

My poor arse is still frozen.

What a morning!

Your autolocking is faulty. It shouldn't activate until you've hit a certain speed (7mph?) so you don't get locked out.

no thats the way subaru made it!

brake unlocks the gear selector and engages the door locks at the same time!

LOL nicely done mate biggrin Wife has a habit of doing things like this - I have developed the habit of having a spare key within easy reach! (well I would if my son would stop moving them into his toy box or other assorted places)

Yes, having lots of tasks automated in our cars is definitely a step forward.

Auto-locking - FFS, why? If I want the doors locked, I'll lock them. If not, I won't.

I didn't realise I had locked the doors as I didn't realise I had tapped the brake!

The question is, why the hell does the autolock operate when the driver's door is open? And why don't you have a spare key, you tit hehe
