Was in OPC kendal today and looked at and sat in a V6 Panamera in the showroom - 20" turbo alloys and decent spec, and it looked fantastic, sat in it and loved it. Should I feel bad?

They are PHAT! But perhaps too PHAT for our narrow, 'orrible congested roads....

If money was no object then I'm sure I could find room in the stable for one.

Should we form a support group?

Hello, my name is mercGLowner and I like Panameras......

Have to say, in all seriousness, I was hugely impressed with it. I fancy one to sit alongside the C4S, I even noticed that the 'cooking' Panamera V6 was only 215gm/km CO2 and combined MPG was above 30mpg..... it makes complete sense ;-)

I had one for the weekend - S - and fantastic car if you can live with the attention it attracts.
Very fast - God knows what the turbo must be like.
Averaged 25 mpg too - better than the GT3!
Amazing interior. Main downside was pdk buttons ( I would want paddles) and side to side jiggling on b roads.
Still chewing it over....

Edited to say : it so reminded me of my old 928 GTS. Only so much better.

I have to admit to liking them. The colour makes a difference. Black or Silver IMO.
Its a shame they didn't develop the 911 model to a 4 door variant option. This day and age with the cost of keeping a car it is not always possible to have multiple vehicles. The Panamera has 911 performance but not the street cred, its a shame really. If we had kids I would seriously consider parting the 911 Turbo for a Panamera Turbo.

I am old(ish) wink

I think that by the time I have got the 911 bug out of my system, I could be seriously tempted by a Panamera. By that time they will be sub £40k for 4S smile

I could even justify one on the basis that my son's wheelchair will fit in the boot!

If I needed 4 seats I wouldn't have any other car - brilliant drive and even the V6 is quick.

I had a play in one at silverstone experience centre, and sadly, loved it. The V8 sounded great and how sideways can it go! If I were in the Market for a 4 door exec it would be a tough choice the jag XJ or the Pan S. Personally prefer Pan interior.

Defies weight and size, turbo version is quicker than 6t round the ring. I don't mind the looks either;)

Inside they are superb, outside the side and front are ok, it's just the rear that jars. I'd have one, esp the Turbo any day of the week.

Completed just over 11,000 miles now in my Turbo. Agree with comments above - the interior is a lovely place to be, and it drives incredibly well. Air suspension takes a bit of getting used to, and is not as well resolved as a conventional set up, but long journeys are a breeze. Sport Plus mode is also extraordinary - point to point over normal roads, I've not driven a faster car - combination of huge torque, fast shifting PDK, anti-roll PDDC suspension and four wheel traction means you can make astonishing progress. You just need a wide road!

A great all rounder and it's received more positive attention than negative over the year at the petrol pumps - boring and derivative it is not (like, dare I say it, the Rapide is - wash my mouth out!).

Cheers

Posts suggest most people like the interior styling. The new 911 should be a winner then. 911 body shape along with the new style Porsche interiors.

I was loaned one when the 997 was in for a service - an S - and for a few minutes of madness even contemplated swapping the 997 and ML in for the one car.

But then I came to my senses.

Maybe in 25 years I'll be better suited to the demographic. Awesome fast, capable piece of kit though. Much respect and yes the turbo must be bonkers.
Exactly my thoughts too. I drove a 2S around the Northants roads during a day at the PDE at Silverstone. Richard Attwood was our host for the Panamera portion of the day and my parting words were that it was incredibly capable and the cabin was lovely place to be, but I felt I was currently just the wrong demographic.
