Fancy a laugh,
look on e-bay at 110647830993 (Sorry can't do links am old git!)
The man wants £39,995.00 for a 1998 Red Rose 4.5 with 43,000 odd miles on it? Yes your aren't seeing things £39.995.00 That's more than the last cerbie made when it was sold last!
It's a nice looking car but it's not worth that. If it's then my 98 4.5 with 13,000 miles is worh the same!

I genuinely believe that a TVR Cerbera in this condition SHOULD be worth that sort of money .
The Cerbera will at some point start demanding 20k minimum. Look at the Honda NSX, special edition 911's etc, this is where the Cerbera belongs.
The only production road car to have the amazing AJP8 engine!

Not laughing, why not that price. I know it's not every ones valuation but if he sells it near that then good, I dare say he's spent that and more.
How many 200mph cars do you know cost as little as a Cerb, they ar all undervalued today but they will climb and cars like this will help.

I have owned three Cerbe's now (Two from new) and this last one is the best! Yes It doesn't get used that much reason see my garage!

That car is a 13 year old car no matter what he has done to it! It originally cost between 50 to 55K when it was new. Now he wants £39,955 so thats deprecation of around £1,000 a year! Sorry no way! Yes he's done a lot to it, but you never get back what you put in unless it's an extremely rare car!
I have restored quite a few vehicles in my time and some to the same if not better than his, so I know (Or my Bank Manger does) The only thing which helps keep a vehicle's price up is Originality and that vehicle by no way of the imagination is original. Plus some of the work might appear to be good, for example did he remove all the corrosion on the inside of the chassis tubes before he galvanised it! If he didn't it will be rotting from the inside out! Galvanising a chassis of a TVR design is not sensable, unless it's done from new and is checked on the original jig after, as the heat involved in galvanising will twist a chassis like the TVR design. (This has been talked about many times before)
Yes it's a nice car but sorry it's only worth £29,995 and then only if some body is prepared to pay that!

kind of agree with andy on this you can by a sagaris for that money!!!! having said that car does look lovely and if he can achieve that price then good luck to him also it helps all us tvr owners as it strengthens the market and prices also what other car sounds and looks like a tvr for there price

If i had a shed full of money,i would probably buy half a dozen tvr's,they are bound to go up in value-all of them eventually,look at MG's a good one of those will set you back at least 20k,and when they were new only cost a fraction of that.I hope my cerbera is worth more in future and very well deserved it will be,being what it is,they arn't being built at the moment and even if they do start again will never be the same-its like star wars figures,they are still made and sold today but the collectors want the first 12 from 1977 mint and unopened,(a bit like a RV8 or an AJP?).So go and buy a Chim and a Griff while you still can for the price they are and in 20 years time you may well be sat on 100k..............this soap box is higher now than when i first stepped on it!

I wouldn't swap my Cerbera for a Sagaris and genuinely consider the Cerb to be a more special car, mainly because of the AJP8.I think the Sagraris is great btw, but not as great as a Cerbera imo.

Will be very interesting to see if it sells, or the price drops.
We all have an interest in these cars for what they are and that is very special.
I have to say for a fully restored Classic Car of such Pedigree, that price looks reasonable.
A friend of mine sold his restored 230SL Pagoda to a Classic Car collector for Euro75,000 a while back.
He's currently restoring a 308GTB steel shell, and been told the final spec of the engine is worth £20,000! That is more than he paid for the car!
At the rate Cerbs get written off, it won't be long until they are quite rare for a car that only stopped production a few years back.
So anybody restoring these to better than factory spec, should make some money??
If only I lived on a farm with a nice big dry barn to store them in, I'd be investing my pension in cheap un-crashed Cerbs!
We all have an interest in these cars for what they are and that is very special.

I have just bought a 98 cerb with 18000 miles on the clock and price paid was 16k, The car is with surface and design for respray and DC TRIM for new interior And MV Automotive for engine work then off to raceproved for short induction and mapping. Including the intrax suspension which is a massive upgrade from nitrons..my total bill will come to about..15k plus original purchase price so.. 31k spend..!! but in the real world i think it would be worth about 25k i certainly wouldnt sell if for less!
I have just been made redundant and then offered another job by the same employer, of course at £5k a year less. It looks like I may be forced to sell the cerb in the not too distant future but really dont want to as A, I really love it, and B, I honestly belive that they will be worth very good money in 10yrs time. I have owned the car for 8 years and it looks and drives and even smells like a new car, I have been told by the main dealer who have looked after the car that it is the best cerb they know of, so I know that I would never be able to replace it. I think there could be a few tears if she does have to go.
